A Neighborhood Spat Escalates to Vandalism

Imagine your quiet evening turning into a full-blown neighborhood war.

That is what happened between these two neighbors.

The plaintiff, Scouts, is suing her neighbor.

The defendant is Ms. Knowles.

They were once "best friends."

Now they are in Judge Judy's courtroom.

The Plaintiff Alleges Car Vandalism

The plaintiff claims the defendant vandalized her car.

This happened on September 14th.

It followed an argument.

The defendant, Ms. Knowles, has a counterclaim.

She says the plaintiff vandalized an RV.

This RV was parked in her driveway.

The Night the Friendship Ended

The plaintiff recounts the events of September 14th.

It was a weekend evening.

Around 9 PM.

She was not feeling well.

She went to bed.

Children were playing outside.

They were under her bedroom window.

These included the defendant's children.

Also, the plaintiff's boyfriend's daughter.

The plaintiff asked the children to move.

She shouted from her open window.

The children were aged five to nine.

They did not move.

They kept playing.

The plaintiff did not close the window.

Her home lacked adequate air conditioning.

She then went outside.

She confronted the defendant and her mother-in-law.

They were talking in the driveway.

She asked why the children were playing under her window at 9 PM.

Judge Judy Questions the Boyfriend's Role

He was in the room with the plaintiff.

He did not go outside.

He did not ask his daughter to move.

She admits she got "nasty."

She said, "You don't talk to my company like that."

She hit the back of the plaintiff's Jeep.

The defendant admits to picking up the log.

She admits to breaking the window.

She initially tried to claim the log "slipped out of her hand."

Judge Judy dismisses this explanation.

She calls it a "log fairy" story.

The Repair Estimate

The plaintiff presents an estimate for the damage.

It is for $2,600.

This covers the rear window.

It also includes the wiper motor.

And the damaged roof shell.

The plaintiff also shows a picture.

It shows the damage to the car.

It shows where the log landed on the bumper.

The Child Protective Services Counterclaim

The defendant files a countersuit.

She alleges the plaintiff called Child Protective Services on her.

She claims she saw CPS go to the plaintiff's house.

She assumed the plaintiff called them on her.

She thought it was retaliation.

Judge Judy asks for proof.

The defendant admits she has no proof.
