Her father was moving out of an apartment.

He had a month-to-month lease.

He was moving back with his estranged wife.

Ms. Jones was still driving his truck.

He had bought another car.

He told Ms. Jones to move into the apartment.

He didn't want her and his granddaughter to be without a home.

He offered to help with the rent.

Everything was fine.

Then he saw Ms. Jones's boyfriend there.

Mr. Jones thought he would help his daughter and grandchild.

But he wouldn't pay rent if a "lazy bum" was living there.

Judge Judy confirms this was Mr. Jones's thought process.

Ms. Jones didn't want to kick out the boyfriend.

So she, the boyfriend, and the grandchild moved out.

When they moved out, Ms. Jones took her father's truck.

The Stolen Truck Report

Mr. Jones called the police.

He said Ms. Jones stole his truck.

Ms. Jones returned the truck.

She then bought a new car.

A 2012 Nissan Altima.

She explains she didn't have transportation.

Judge Judy asks how much Ms. Jones paid for the Dodge Stratus.

She paid $1,000.

She bought it from a lot in Springfield.

Mr. Jones purchased the Volvo.

He bought it from his brother.

He paid $800 for it.

Mr. Jones claims the Dodge wasn't totaled.

He says the ignition sometimes got stuck.

He had to break it loose with a screwdriver.

Judge Judy believes Ms. Jones.

She says Mr. Jones was with her when the car was junked.

Mr. Jones confirms he was there.

Ms. Jones received $200 for junking the car.

Judge Judy's Disapproval of the Stolen Truck Report

Judge Judy states Ms. Jones is owed $1,600.

She says Mr. Jones destroyed her first car, the Volvo.

He paid $800 for it.

Ms. Jones paid $1,000 for the Dodge.

Judge Judy considers that Mr. Jones also destroyed that car.

Ms. Jones received a $200 credit for junking it.

Judge Judy finds it "very bad" that Mr. Jones reported the truck stolen.

She calls it "ridiculous."

He knew his daughter had the truck.

Judge Judy understands his annoyance about the boyfriend.

She understands him not wanting to pay rent with the boyfriend there.

But she would "never, never call the police" and report a car stolen.

Especially when she knew her child had it.
