Man Denies Gaming the System! (Page 2 of 2)

Miss Leong interjects.

She states he was kicked out of Section 8 in April.

He then owed the entire rent.

She could not accept the 113 dollars he offered.

Mr. Brown confirms he attempted to pay 113 dollars in April.

He also confirms his Section 8 housing was terminated in April.

Judge Judy's Assessment

Mr. Brown is asking for the return of a security deposit and other things.

Judge Judy tells him she doesn't care about the other things.

She states he is a man who has clearly learned how to game the system.

She has seen many like him in her nearly 50 years in Family Court and her current role.

She understands caregivers, partners, and co-parents.

She knows about co-parents who have children aged three, two, and one.

Judge Judy tells Mr. Brown she knows all about him.

The Security Deposit

Judge Judy wants to know where Mr. Brown got the 1,500 dollars for the deposit.

He states 800 dollars came from his former landlord's security deposit.

He lived there for 14 months, from October 2016.

He was on disability after leaving his job.

He was living with Iola, his co-parent, at that time.

He had one child with Iola when he moved there.

Iola became his co-parent when he moved there.

Judge Judy Refuses to Be a Co-Conspirator

Judge Judy tells Mr. Brown she refuses to be a co-conspirator with him.

She asks when he last earned 1,500 dollars.

She notes that Miss Leong is out at least two months' rent.

This is because Mr. Brown was kicked out of Section 8 housing.

He offered to pay 113 dollars on a 1,600 dollar rental bill.

He did not move out immediately.

He stayed there another month.

Miss Leong is out two months' rent.

Mr. Brown wants Judge Judy to direct Miss Leong to return 1,500 dollars.

Judge Judy states he did not earn that money.

The Dismissal

Judge Judy dismisses Mr. Brown.

She tells him, "Goodbye, Mr. Brown.

We're done."

Mr. Brown tries to offer an excuse.

He claims the premises had mice, roaches, and mold.

He states that in California, a landlord is not entitled to rent if the premises has these issues.

Miss Leong responds.

She says he has done this before.

She calls him a professional at it.

She claims he scammed the federal, state, and local county governments.

She states his job is to scam the system.
