YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HE TOLD JUDGE JUDY!

A Sober Living Facility Dispute Lands in Court

Imagine owning a sober living facility.

Then imagine your former managers leaving.

And taking your property with them.

That is the claim Miss Dunn brings to Judge Judy.

The Plaintiff's Claims

Miss Dunn is the plaintiff.

She owns a sober living facility.

She claims the defendants, Mr. Safor and Ms. Dale, took her property.

They were managing her facility.

She also claims Ms. Dale assaulted her.

The Defendants' Departure

Miss Dunn states the defendants left around September 8th.

She herself left the facility on September 12th.

She is suing for the return of her property.

She is also suing for the alleged assault.

The Missing Property List

Miss Dunn presents a list of items she claims were taken.

The list includes a weight set.

It also lists a mini stainless steel refrigerator.

A flower pot is on the list.

A napkin holder is mentioned.

Brooms and mops are included.

A microwave is listed.

An antique napkin holder is also on the list.

An industrial dust pan is claimed.

A 25-foot water hose is missing.

Finally, a replacement shower curtain is part of her claim.

Judge Judy Questions Ownership of the Weight Set

Judge Judy immediately focuses on the weight set.

She asks Miss Dunn if it belonged to her.

Miss Dunn states, "Everything in a house belong to you."

Judge Judy quickly corrects her.

She reminds Miss Dunn that she had tenants.

Miss Dunn had many tenants, according to her own complaint.

Judge Judy asks if Miss Dunn purchased the weight set.

Miss Dunn confirms she did.

She says she bought it from Phil and Andy.

These were previous tenants.

Miss Dunn claims everything they left became hers.

Judge Judy asks for a lease with a rider for personal property purchase.

Miss Dunn does not have such a document.

Mr. Safor Admits to Taking the Weight Set

Mr. Safor admits to taking the weight set.

He claims a previous owner told him to take their property.

Judge Judy orders Mr. Safor to return the weight set.

The Case of the Missing Mini Refrigerator

Mr. Safor denies taking the microwave and the mini refrigerator.

Miss Dunn has a witness.

Harwood Hines is Miss Dunn's son.

He testifies that he saw Mr. Safor put the mini refrigerator in a U-Haul truck.

Judge Judy believes the witness.

She tells Mr. Safor she can tell from his "body English" that the witness is telling the truth.

Mr. Safor claims the witness was under the influence.

Judge Judy dismisses this claim.

She values the mini fridge at $50.

She assumes it is an old model.

The Alleged Assault

Miss Dunn then discusses the alleged assault.

She states it happened on September 9th.

She presents a police report.

She also provides doctor's evidence of injuries.

She mentions the fire department applied ice to her arm.

Judge Judy points out a discrepancy.

The police report states the incident was reported on September 10th.

This contradicts Miss Dunn's claim of September 9th.

Miss Dunn claims the police report has an error.

Judge Judy notes the medical report is cut off.

It does not name the facility where Miss Dunn received treatment.

Miss Dunn states she went for medical treatment a week after the incident.

Miss Dunn's Version of the Assault

Miss Dunn describes the assault.

She says Ms. Dale slammed a metal gate on her arm.

This happened as Miss Dunn was leaving.

She immediately called the police.

The police called the fire department.

They applied ice to her injuries.

Her son, Harwood, was also at the scene.

Ms. Dale's Version of the Incident

Ms. Dale gives her version of events.

She says Miss Dunn had fired them.

Ms. Dale was closing the gate.

She claims Miss Dunn backed into it herself.

Ms. Dale states the police did not want to make a report.

She says they knew it was an accident.

Judge Judy Prepares Her Ruling

Judge Judy prepares to make her ruling.

She tells the parties to get ready.
