Roof Repair Causes Collapse? (Page 2 of 2)

Ms. Cheetah replied she did not have them anymore.

She explained her home had been broken into.

She said many things were taken during the break-in.

The white Wii was an older model.

Mr. Shoe and Ms. Cheetah disagreed on its cost.

Ms. Cheetah said she had seen it for $169.

Judge Judy calculated the total value of these five items.

She stated, "So far, at most, you have $300 worth of damage."

Ms. Cheetah insisted there was "more than that" damaged.

She claimed she had "more emails" documenting other damages.

Disputed Communication and Responsibility

Ms. Cheetah reiterated that she told Mr. Shoe about the damage over time.

She claimed he never showed up to inspect the damage in person.

She said he always made excuses like being "at a resort" or "in China."

She stated she could not force him to come and look.

She explained that damage is often discovered over time, not all at once.

She mentioned the entire roofing had to be replaced.

She claimed the replacement process caused further damage.

She said Mr. Shoe never informed her the roof would be replaced.

She came home to "chaos" with roof debris all over her unit.

She told him to come see how bad it was.

She argued that pictures do not convey the physical damage adequately.

Landlord's Defense and Judge Judy's Clarification

Mr. Shoe stated he was not going to give her $5,000.

He said he would only afford the damage.

He mentioned the $300 amount.

Judge Judy asked about a bill for cleaning the apartment.

Ms. Cheetah said Mr. Shoe had the bill.

She claimed she forwarded it to him when he came.

Mr. Shoe did not pay it.

Ms. Cheetah did not pay it either.

Mr. Shoe tried to explain that the roofing company was responsible for everything.

Judge Judy interrupted him.

She stated Ms. Cheetah did not have to pursue the roofing company.

She told Mr. Shoe that he had to go after the roofing company.

This was because he hired them.

The Cleaning Issue

Mr. Shoe presented evidence.

He said one page showed the roofer.

He claimed they gave Ms. Cheetah $100 for cleaning for the laundry.

He also stated they sent two people to help clean the room.

He added that they vacuumed on the third day.

Ms. Cheetah denied that they did an adequate job.

She said, "No, they didn't."

Judge Judy noted that Ms. Cheetah had not done anything herself.

She stated Ms. Cheetah "put the lid on everybody instead of taking care of it."

The Verdict

Judge Judy issued her judgment.

She ruled in favor of the plaintiff, Ranaka Cheetah.

The judgment was for the amount of $300.

The case concluded.
