The Unlikely Confrontation
Regina Bechole brought a lawsuit against Deidre Catty.
The plaintiff, Ms. Bechole, accused Ms. Catty of assault and harassment.
Both women claimed the other initiated a physical altercation.
The core of their dispute revolved around a man currently in jail.
Judge Judy expressed her bewilderment at the situation.
She noted that both women appeared mature and responsible.
Ms. Bechole stated she was 51 years old.
Ms. Catty stated she was 54 years old.
Judge Judy questioned why two "lovely looking, mature women" would fight over an incarcerated man.

The "Piece of Crap" in Jail
The Judge referred to the man as a "piece of crap."
She observed that the man had been "two-timing" both women.
Instead of confronting him, the women assaulted each other.
Each woman alleged the other was the aggressor in the physical fight.
Ms. Bechole confirmed that without this man, she would have no reason to confront Ms. Catty.
Ms. Catty also agreed she would have no reason to confront Ms. Bechole.
Judge Judy asked Ms. Bechole if she believed she was in a committed relationship with the man.
Ms. Bechole replied that she did not think she was.
She described her relationship with him as casual.
Ms. Catty, however, believed she was in a committed relationship.
She stated they had been in a three-year relationship.
Judge Judy pointed out that the man had betrayed, lied to, and cheated on Ms. Catty.
She emphasized that this was the man's fault, not Ms. Bechole's.

The Man's Crimes and Incarceration
The man was serving time for serious offenses.
He was incarcerated for strangulation in the third degree.
His charges also included domestic violence and stalking.
Ms. Bechole confirmed she was the victim of these crimes.
She stated the man was serving a six-year sentence.
The man went to jail on October 12th or 13th, according to Ms. Bechole.
Ms. Catty claimed the man went to jail on November 7th.
Ms. Catty also testified that she had been assaulted by the man.
She went to the hospital and court regarding that incident in October.
She also went to court in November regarding the man's actions.

Initial Contact Between the Women
The first contact between Ms. Bechole and Ms. Catty occurred on February 13th or 14th, 2014.
Ms. Catty initiated this contact by calling Ms. Bechole's phone.
On February 26th, Ms. Catty called Ms. Bechole again.
Ms. Catty asked Ms. Bechole who she was.
Ms. Bechole admitted she lied and told Ms. Catty she was the man's wife.
Ms. Catty stated that the man did not have a wife.
Ms. Bechole later admitted her statement about being his wife was a lie.
Ms. Bechole kept a journal and referenced it for the date of the initial phone call.
She explained that Ms. Catty called her and said, "He's my husband, and I want to know if you are having an affair."
Ms. Bechole did not answer this question directly.
Ms. Catty continued to tell her they were married and where they lived.
Ms. Catty also described the man as a liar.
Ms. Bechole asked Ms. Catty how she got her phone number, but Ms. Catty never responded.
This phone call was their initial contact.

The December 26th Confrontation
The alleged assault between Ms. Bechole and Ms. Catty took place on December 26th.
Ms. Bechole was leaving her apartment complex to run an errand.
Her granddaughter was with her.
The granddaughter pointed out Ms. Catty, saying, "the lady, Deidra."
Ms. Bechole understood how her granddaughter knew Ms. Catty.
Ms. Bechole told her granddaughter to go back into the apartment.
